ACCREDITED

Grace Christian Academy utilizes an accredited curriculum based on Florida's private, public and charter education standards through Accelerated Christian Education which offers individualized core curriculum with a scope of preschool through college preparatory levels in math, English, social studies, science, and Word Building (Etymology for level 9).

Based on these principles, we assure parents of:

-A solid, mastery-based, back-to-basics education for their child.

-A course of study diagnostically individualized to meet a student's specific learning needs and capabilities.

-A program incorporating Scripture, Godly character building, and wisdom principles.

-A curriculum using advanced computer technology to help ensure the finest education possible in today's high-tech climate.

ADVANCED

Accelerated Christian Education® has taken the conventional style textbook and divided it into bite-sized, achievable worktexts called PACEs. Each PACE is similar to a unit in a textbook. Each level consists of 12 PACEs in each subject. PACEs integrate Godly character-building lessons into the academic content, and self-instructional activities are carefully designed to develop thinking skills and create mastery learning. A.C.E. stands out from other curriculum providers with its individualized, self-instructional, mastery-based approach. With minimal assistance, PACEs allow students to absorb subject material according to their own learning ability rather than being pushed forward or held back by their age. For instance, a student placed in the fifth grade by a conventional school may be taking PACEs in Level 4 math, Level 5 science, and Level 5 English in the A.C.E. program. Students may move ahead in some subject areas and proceed at a slower pace in others.

INDIVIDUALIZED

GCA is able to work with each child, individually, at the child’s pace. Children and youth who tend to struggle with time management can now thrive in meeting their academic goals, and learn about Christ in the process. Students begin their PACE work by noting their goals, the concepts they will learn, a Bible verse, and a corresponding character trait. They know what is expected and assume the responsibility for their own learning! Explanations and illustrations add excitement to each lesson, and innovative learning activities reinforce the text material. Each PACE contains several Checkups, which are quizzes covering a section of the PACE. If mastery in an area is not achieved, the Checkup will reveal that weak area. Students can then take the time necessary to review and learn those concepts before proceeding to the next section. Upon completion of the activities and Checkups, students prepare to take the Self Test. Here students evaluate themselves, and a supervisor/tutor determines readiness for the final PACE Test. When the Self Test is successfully completed, the student turns in the PACE and takes the PACE Test the next school morning. The PACE Test objectively measures student mastery of the material.

SERVICE BASED

From its beginning, Accelerated Christian Education has maintained high Biblical and academic standards and remained committed to setting children on a path for success. The goal is the same today: to prepare children for the world today and give them the academic and spiritual tools necessary to achieve their God-given potential. The programs offered in our academy are in high demand for parents that want their child to succeed spiritually, professionally, as well as, personally.

Our community-based service activities are paired with structured preparation and student reflection. What is unique about service learning is that it offers direct application of theoretical models. It creates the real-world application of classroom knowledge in a community setting allowing students to synthesize course material in more meaningful ways. Common goals achieved by service learning include: gaining a deeper understanding of the course/curricular content, a broader appreciation of the discipline and an enhanced sense of civic responsibility.

05

PROJECT BASED

Project Based Learning is a teaching method in which students gain knowledge and skills by working for an extended period of time to investigate and respond to an authentic, engaging, and complex question, problem, or challenge.

Starting in Kindergarten, each student at each level will be working towards the knowledge of a different spiritual gift. For instance, in Kindergarten, students will spend their year investigating the need and use of prayer and the application of it in their homes and their environments. Each grade level changes all the way through to the 12 grade where students will do the final study of the life and miracles of Christ. Each project requires maps, vocabulary words, character explanations, and more.

06

TECHNOLOGICAL BASED

Technology-based education is the integration of instructional technology into the learning environment of our school. It increases student engagement and motivation and accelerates learning. Technology also has the power to transform teaching by ushering in a new model of connected teaching. This model links teachers to their students and to professional content, resources, and systems to help them improve their own instruction and personalized learning. We utilize technology tools and devices that motivate students and give information or assistance with questions, such as interactive white boards, hand held devices, digital cameras and scanners.
We not only use computers for student research, but we also have 24 hour virtual tutoring teachers available, coding and software training, Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) integrated courses and clubs.
